What to Expect When Visiting Oakland Baptist Church on Sunday
Visiting a new church for the first time tends to be intimidating -- there’s a lot for visitors to figure out! We want Oakland's visitors to feel at home and at ease when they arrive. When you visit, you will experience great music, encouraging messages, friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere.

9:15 a.m. Small groups for all ages (more below)
10:15 a.m. Coffee is served, again!
10:30 a.m. Worship Service (stream live) and Kids' Worship (K–5)
12:00 noon Youth Group
What are small groups?
Small groups are groups of 5 to 25 or so members and visitors who meet together for Bible study and fellowship. We have several small groups for adults and youth, along with Sunday School for preschoolers and older kids.
What’s the worship service like?
The worship service begins with prayer, announcements, and congregational singing that includes a mix of the traditional hymns and contemporary songs creating a welcome haven in a hurried world. The sermon preached immediately following provides the Biblical application insights necessary to make disciples of Jesus Christ who are growing, connecting, and producing.
How long is the service?
The Worship Service is roughly an hour long. Grab a cup of coffee before the service and join us!
Just what is there for the kids?
Preschool (birth–pre-K)
Sundays 9-11:45 a.m.
Preschoolers will have lots of fun as they learn the basic truths of the Bible, God, and Jesus upon which they can build as they mature, to someday accept Jesus as their Savior.
Kids' Sunday School (kindergarten–5th grade)
Sundays 9:15 a.m.
Providing Biblical training and guidance to elementary aged children in the Kidzone (annex building).
Kids' Worship (kindergarten–5th grade)
Sundays 10:30 a.m.
Kids have their own worship service tailored just for them in the Kidzone (annex building).
And for youth?
We have small groups Sunday mornings at 9:15; and an extended gathering with fellowship, games, and Bible study Sundays from noon until 2:00.

How do people normally dress?
You are welcome to wear what you feel comfortable in. Casual to semi-formal. You will find some in coat and tie or dress, and others in jeans or shorts.
