Youth Ministry Intern Job Announcement

Job Summary:

The Youth Ministry Summer Intern will assist the Youth Ministry Team Leaders to disciple middle and high school students through organizing and managing events, in addition to receiving exposure to weekly planning, scheduling, and preparation. This paid position requires an intern to devote 15-18 hours per week working closely with the Pastor and Youth Ministry Team Leaders during the 12-week internship period, mid-May to mid-August.

Job Duties:

  • Actively participates in Youth Ministry summer program and planning sessions.
  • Assists in the planning and leads the accomplishment of student events, including:
    • Student Ministry Summer Camp – July 7-11
    • VBS (local outreach for children 5-11 yrs) leading youth volunteers – June 8-12
  • Mentors and disciples students in weekly Bible study. Sets up hangouts before or after scheduled programs to engage with youth informally.
  • Plans and leads 2 youth outreach events.
  • Contributes to the team through participation in team meetings, seeks servant-leadership opportunities, learns, and envisions God working through them to make an impact on others.
  • Assists Youth Ministry Team Leaders providing support where needed.
  • Attends Youth Group and Sunday worship.

Responsible to: Pastor
Works closely with: Youth Ministry Team Leaders

Skills Required:

  • Fully committed follower of Christ with a passion to engage with youth to advance the gospel.
  • Demonstrated commitment to unity and willingness to work in a team environment.
  • A motivated self-starter who can meet deadlines while creating quality work.
  • Some computer skills i.e. Google Apps, Planning Center, and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.

Salary: $1200 per month (4 weeks/month)


Housing: Zero-cost option available


Work Hours: 15-18 hours per week average

This position is a temporary summer internship which includes working weekends and some evenings. Normal working hours will be established to meet summer program schedule.

Training and development:

  • Intern will participate in interactive mentoring throughout the course of the internship.
  • Intern will read and participate in book study with pastor.
  • Intern will develop practical experience in youth ministry.
