Meet the Senior Pastor Search Team

On June 26, 2022, Jill Morrissett, Brian Eaddy, Jessy Bryant, Betsey Caballero, Dawn Hillis, Candy Franklin, and Rusty Thomas were approved as the Senior Pastor Search Team.

They come with a heart for God and revitalization of OBC! They have already met and plan to start training on search procedures, then proceed to develop a profile of OBC, research compensation options, and work with the Leadership Team/Deacons to define pastor qualifications. Stand-by for regular progress updates! Please pray for this team as they seek God’s direction to lead us to a senior pastor for our church.

Jill Morrissett (chair) has been with Oakland since 1984, currently serving as Personnel Ministry Support Team Lead and previously serving as financial secretary, pastor search team member, Haiti mission, and outreach efforts. She is married to Jim and brings her experiences as a mother of 3 married sons, an industrial engineer, & a retired chief scientist. “God is at work in our church & I am excited to serve on this team to call a senior pastor to lead us to fulfill God’s mission in King George!”

Brian Eaddy (vice chair & prayer lead) has been a member of Oakland since 2001. He has served with several ministries at Oakland over the years including Nominating Committee, FAITH visitation team, AWANA, High Power Soccer. In addition, he has supported several disaster relief efforts with OBC’s local mission’s ministry. He is married to Nikki and has four children, Luke, Karsyn, Amy, and Tie. “I am excited to see God’s plan for Oakland as it happens before our eyes, and I want to join the congregation in prayerful pursuit of His will.”

Jessy Bryant (secretary) has attended Oakland since she was a kid. After moving home from college, she became active in missions trips, youth Sunday school, preschool, women's ministry, and mobile food pantry. "My prayer for Oakland's future is to connect people with God, equip members to serve, and spread the hope of Jesus in our community."

Betsey Caballero has been a member of Oakland since 2016. As the daughter of a church planting pastor, she has a strong background in the workings of the church & transition. As the mom of 4 boys, she has a good understanding of the needs and importance of the children & youth ministries. She is active in women's ministry as a teacher and part of the leadership team. "I am looking forward to working with this team & our congregation to find a pastor who will help us continue to transform and strengthen our church."

Dawn Hillis has been a member of Oakland since 2007 and has served with the Youth, AWANA, Women’s ministry, Praise Team, Choir, and Handbells. She is a teacher and has been teaching for 23 Years. “I am excited to be part of this team and I am looking forward to seeing how God will continue to work in Oakland.

Candy Franklin has been an active member of OBC for 43 years serving as a teacher, small group facilitator, youth volunteer, and as a member of a variety of committees. She currently volunteers with the mobile food pantry, helps facilitate the WOW small group, and works with the women’s ministry. “I recognize the solemn responsibility to be in God’s will throughout the pastor selection process and I ask that all OBC be in prayer for our efforts.”

Rusty Thomas been an active member of OBC for over 40 years, serving as deacon, praise band leader, small group leader, pastor search team member, and in many outreach ministries. “I personally think God has put us in a place and given us incredible resources as a foundation for doing great things in growing His kingdom in King George and changing the lives of people around us.”
