Awana is a Gospel-based program for children offered on Wednesday evenings through the school year at Oakland. Children learn about having a personal relationship with Jesus through Scripture memory, missions, fellowship and fun. Sparks and Truth in Training club members also participate in area and regional Games and Bible Quiz Events.
Awana meets from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings. Below are the age groups for Wednesday Night AWANA, as well as their locations. Please note the youngest groups (Puggles and Cubbies) meet in the main church building, while older groups (Sparks and TNTs) meet in the Annex KidZone.
- Puggles - Under Age 3, whose parents are AWANA leaders or in Wednesday Night Bible Studies. Puggles meets in the church.
- Cubbies - Ages 3 and 4. Cubbies meets in the church.
- Sparks and TnT (Truth in Training) - Kindergarten-Grade 6. These groups meet in the Annex Fellowship Hall.
Please note: Awana offers studies for teens, called 24/7 Journey and Trek. Oakland offers Journey and Trek on Sunday nights prior to youth group. Please see the Youth Warehouse 180 page for more information.
